If you’re a dentist, you want to watch your practice grow and help the members of your community enjoy optimal oral health. To do so, you need to take steps to make sure you stand out. Local SEO can help people looking for dental care in your community find you when searching online. We have a number of different tips to help this process, from proper keyword placement to consistent NAP information.
Tips for Going Local!
- Optimize Your Keywords: You should incorporate keywords related to the city or cities you’re targeting. You can include the city name in the meta data, as well as the headers and the call-to-actions. Be sure you avoid stuffing, keywords should be limited to three to five mentions per page. Keyword examples include “brighter smiles in Dallas, TX” or “Schedule an Appointment with Your Dallas Dentist.”
- Make Sure Your NAP is Consistent: Very important! On your website and social media pages, your name, address, and phone number needs to be the same across the board. If not, this can lead to confusion. Google will pull this information from your site for your Google My Business page (unless you claim it and add the information yourself). You need to make sure there’s no confusion about what number to call or where you’re located. If you tried to go to the dentist and the directions took you to a shuttered storefront, would you give them another chance or move on to a different practice?
- Blog (and community blog!): Blogging can be a definite local SEO boost, as you’re continuously providing content for Google’s bots to crawl and index. Your call-to-action will mention your name and the cities you serve. In addition, blogging about your city and event staking place therein can also help search engine optimization.
