The Mission Health Dental Clinic Provides Complimentary Care for Area Residents
Being inspired by an experience in Memphis, Dr. Wright started the Mission Health Dental Clinic with area partners after assessing the needs of the community. Thanks to the clinic, uninsured adults in the El Buen neighborhood can receive the dental care they desperately need. Every dentist around the country sees cases where adults have suffered tooth decay and even loss, simply because they didn’t have the insurance coverage they needed to receive regular care. The Mission Health Dental Clinic seeks to eradicate this problem, thanks to charitable donations of time and dental supplies from a network of providers.
Dr. Greg Wright’s Work at MHDC Is Creating Community Connections
A needs assessment determined that there were about 15,000 people living below the poverty line in the El Buen neighborhood in Southeast Fort Worth. These people have been receptive to the services that MHDC provides, and many of them even make donations of time or money, as they’re able, to the clinic. This type of community outreach and connection is part of the service mission that Dr. Wright feels compelled to uphold as a dentist and community member.
