Highlight Special Services With A Microsite

On Friday, we looked at why dental specialists need more than just a traditional general dental website. We also touched briefly on microsites, as they can be a great way to boost SEO and attract patients looking for a specific service you offer, such as dental implants or sleep apnea. Find out how microsites can highlight special services!

How Do They Differ From Your Main Website?

First, they should look a lot like your main website. We believe patients should be able to see a definite connection and understand this is the same practice. However, the content will differ significantly. The copy should focus on a specific service you want to highlight. For example, we recently built a microsite for Dr. James Stewart and for Dr. Jessica Lawson. We also often blog for this site as well as your main one for SEO purposes.

Are They Necessary?

Not for every practice. If you offer purely general services, then your focus should stay on your main website. However, if you have special training and experience with dental specialty such as implant dentistry or sleep apnea, and you want to attract patients looking for this specific service, then they can be very useful. For example, if someone is looking for a tooth loss solution in your community, their Google search will be more likely to bring you up. If you were the patient, who would you choose for the specific care you need, someone with an entire website dedicated to it, or a general practice?
