We often talk a lot about content, which is vital go a successful SEO strategy. But what about connecting that content? That’s where link building comes in. A proper strategy can offer an SEO boost and allow people to more easily navigate your website. However, there are a few things you should be aware of in order to avoid common mistakes!
Poor Link Building Strategies
First, more is not better. Just stuffing a page with links can do more harm than good. An optimal strategy involves between three and five per page. In addition, remember that just including one is not enough. They need to go somewhere, namely, to relevant pages. For example, your cosmetic page should have some that direct to related services pages. Also, don’t hide them. They should be clear and visible. Attempts to hide them, or include multiple ones to unrelated pages, are black hat tactics that can lead to your site being penalized instead of climbing the ranks.
Linking on Your Website and Blog
Don’t forget about your blog! Each blog post is not only a chance for Google to crawl and index, but another way to strengthen your link building strategies. You can include some to direct people to your contact page, related blogs, or to related pages on your website (preferably, all three). Finally, make sure the ones you place are also keywords, as this can improve your SEO strategy!
Guest Blogging and Articles
Your strategy shouldn’t just be limited to your website and blog. First, you have social media pages and a Google+ or Google My Business page, direct people to them! In addition, if you write guest blogs or articles, your bio can include paths to your website. If you have any questions or concerns about your link building strategy, then please contact our team.
