I feel like at least once a week we blog on this topic: The importance of being mobile-friendly. Every year, mobile grabs more and more attention as it moves towards being the primary means by which we visit the internet or search for businesses (and dental practices!). However, a new study shows that mobile has finally dominated the arena, taking a greater share than either desktops or laptops. What does this mean for your practice? Are you ready for a world going mobile?
The Results of the comScore Study
A week ago, comScore released a study entitled “2017 US Cross Platform Future in Focus” that tracked and monitored the way we use digital devices and services. The results showed that a staggering 69% of people now use a mobile device for viewing digital content. Mobile apps are used 60% to view content, and smartphone apps used 51%. The results are not very surprising if you’ve been following these trends. People prefer to use tablets and phones to perform searches, watch videos, or interact via social media. The odds of this trend reversing is microscopic. Mobile is the future.
Are You Mobile?
With more people using tablets and smartphones, what does that mean for you as a dentist? Well, it means that when people visit your site, most of the time they will do so on a tablet or phone. If you don’t have a mobile-friendly site, then your pages will be hard to view and navigate. People will then leave them. If you want the people who view your site to visit your office, you need pages that won’t turn away potential patients.
