Remembering Those We Lost

On Monday, millions of Americans will be taking off work for Memorial Day. While the glut of sales and retail events would have you believe this weekend was another shopping holiday, for the many who have lost family, this is a somber occasion.

Since the 1860s, we’ve observed the last weekend in May in memory of those we lost in war. What began as a Decoration Day following the Civil War, now has become a day dedicated to men and women that gave their lives in defense of our country.

We hope everyone, us included, can find time to remember those we lost, and also remember those who were left behind to mourn the men and women who gave everything on the battlefield. Amid the fireworks and celebrations, please take time to remember.
