People love free stuff! They get excited, they even thank you, but does it really drive business back to your office?
We can all agree that some amount of chotsky (free stuff of inconsequential value) is necessary. However, you need to be sure to pick items that have some staying power and maximize your marketing dollars.
Some things to consider when choosing giveaway items:
- Is your name, logo, contact information on the items?
- What is the shelf life?
- Is it age appropriate?
- Is it in keeping with your overall image?
One idea that Dr. Mark Hodge, at Berkshire Dental Group, came up with was to give away t-shirts at their 20th anniversary celebration. Then, for the next 12 months, any patient who wore their shirt into the office received $20 off their bill. This photo was taken just a few days ago – 3 months after the party!
