We recently had a client approach us about our social media kit. The kit contains posts for a variety of platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. However, we don’t include the ever-growing Snapchat. The social media giant is growing so fast that even Facebook is updating Messenger to compete. So, with all this attention being directed to it, why have we not included it in the kit?
The Good and Bad of Snapchat
Snapchat is a lot of fun and yes, many companies are using it as part of their social media outreach. However, using Snapchat provides a few complications for marketers. First, the content only lasts for 24 hours. Our posts on other sites that remain visible for substantially longer, are more likely to grab views, comments, and shares as a result. In addition, studies show that videos are typically what companies are sharing on Snapchat. Keep in mind that to gain any kind of online following, you should post three or more times a week. With that said, studies show that only about half of viewers watch the videos, and even less watch them to the end. Simply put: it’s a lot of work for little reward compared to other social media sites.
How Does the Kit Work?
Every month we send our clients a free social media kit containing a month’s worth of statuses that are customized for different platforms. The kit is free for clients who carry a monthly SEO package. For those without a monthly package, it is only $99. If you would like more details, simply contact our office.
